A320neo Dismantled for the First Time – Industry First by Unical

While the aviation world is focused on Airbus’s ramped-up A320neo production, a significant development is unfolding on the opposite end of the market. Unical Aviation, a company specializing in aircraft dismantling and spare parts, has announced the purchase of an A320neo family “fleet” to be parted out. The dismantling will be carried out by its subsidiary ecube, with the first aircraft set to be processed this month.

Unical described the project as the first dedicated teardown program for the A320neo family. David Dicken, VP of Assets at Unical Aviation, stated: “As the first company to initiate the teardown process for A320neo aircraft, we are leading the way in meeting the evolving needs of airlines and MRO customers. These airframes will soon be transformed into cost-effective, rapid-turnaround spare parts for operators around the globe.”
