Airbus CEO Guillaume Faury stated that a technical fix required for some aircraft in the A320 family has caused significant operational disruptions and delays worldwide since yesterday.
Faury apologized to affected airlines and passengers, emphasizing that safety comes first in flight operations. “Millions of people travel every day on Airbus aircraft. When it comes to flying, nothing is more important than safety,” he said.
He added that Airbus teams are working around the clock to deliver the necessary software updates to airline operators as quickly as possible, with the goal of returning the aircraft to service promptly.
The company expects operations on affected routes to return to normal once the update process is complete.
