Emirates has celebrated the 20th anniversary of its partnership with Arsenal with a specially designed crest made from repurposed aircraft components.
The 2.4-metre-high Arsenal crest was created by Emirates Engineering in Dubai using parts taken from Airbus A380 and Boeing 777 aircraft in the Emirates fleet.
Named “The Aircrafted Arsenal Crest,” the piece was completed in 34 days and transported from Dubai to London by Emirates SkyCargo. It was unveiled at Emirates Stadium by Emirates President Sir Tim Clark and Arsenal CEO Richard Garlick.
The crest incorporates components including an A380 main landing gear wheel hub, a titanium bleed air duct, composite floor panels, Boeing 777 fuselage skin panels, cargo rails and aircraft windows.
The partnership between Emirates and Arsenal began in 2006. The two sides recently announced an extension of their agreement until 2033. Under the renewed deal, Emirates will remain Arsenal’s front-of-shirt sponsor, training kit sponsor and naming rights partner of Emirates Stadium.
The special crest will be permanently displayed in the Emirates hospitality area at Emirates Stadium.
