Tewolde Gebremariam Appointed as Air India’s New CEO

India’s flag carrier Air India has appointed former Ethiopian Airlines CEO Tewolde Gebremariam as its new Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director.

Gebremariam brings around 36 years of aviation experience and is widely recognised for transforming Ethiopian Airlines into one of Africa’s largest airline groups. He will succeed Campbell Wilson and lead Air India through the next phase of its transformation.

As the airline continues its restructuring under the Tata Group, Air India is expected to accelerate its operational transformation by drawing on Gebremariam’s extensive international aviation experience.
