Explosions Near Erbil International Airport

Explosions were heard around Erbil International Airport in Erbil, Iraq, with smoke reportedly rising from the area.

According to initial reports, Iranian unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) targeted the surroundings of the airport complex.

Due to developments in the region, flight operations have been temporarily suspended as a precautionary measure. Some aircraft were not allowed to take off, and passengers on board were taken back to the terminal.
