Air Astana Becomes First Company in Kazakhstan to Receive DHL GoGreen Plus Certificate

Air Astana has become the first company in Kazakhstan to receive the DHL GoGreen Plus Certificate in recognition of its support for reducing emissions associated with international logistics through the use of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF).

The certificate was presented to Air Astana CEO Ibrahim Canliel by DHL Express Kazakhstan General Director Evgeniy Bagdashkin.

Canliel said sustainability is at the core of the Air Astana Group’s operations and decision-making process, adding that the airline actively participates in industry ESG initiatives, including IATA sustainability programmes. He noted that the company remains committed to supporting practical and collaborative solutions that contribute to a more sustainable future for aviation.

Bagdashkin stated that Air Astana was among the first companies in Kazakhstan to join the programme, highlighting the importance of leading companies taking concrete steps to reduce their carbon footprint. He added that Sustainable Aviation Fuel is currently one of the most effective tools available for decarbonising aviation logistics and said DHL is pleased to support Air Astana on its sustainability journey.
