Syria’s new government has acquired a Bombardier Global 6000 business jet for use on official international visits. The aircraft, registered T7-SYR, arrived in Damascus following a testing process in Singapore.
The Syrian state emblem has been placed on the aircraft’s tail section. Until now, the new government had relied on state aircraft provided by allied countries or used aircraft through wet-lease arrangements for overseas travel.
Before the civil war, Syria was reported to have operated two private jets. One was reportedly sold during the war, while the other was taken out of the country.
The Global 6000 is expected to be used for official state travel under the new administration.
