Israeli Intelligence Reportedly Warned US of Plot Against Trump

After US President Donald Trump said during the NATO Summit in Ankara that Iran had placed him on its target list, Israel reportedly shared intelligence with Washington regarding a new alleged assassination plot.

According to CNN, citing two sources familiar with the matter, Israeli officials provided the United States with information suggesting that Iran had devised a specific new plan to assassinate Trump.

The report said the intelligence was shared this week and concerned a plot that US authorities had not previously been tracking. Details of the alleged plan remain unclear, and the information has not yet been independently verified by US officials.

US intelligence agencies have reportedly been assessing various possible threats against Trump in recent weeks. The Israeli warning is said to have introduced a new element to those assessments.

Some US officials reportedly believe the intelligence could also be part of a broader Israeli effort to influence the Trump administration’s decision-making on Iran, particularly regarding potential military action. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has expressed doubts about diplomatic engagement with Tehran and is expected to visit Washington soon.
