Air Astana Marks 24 Years Since Its First Commercial Flight

Kazakhstan’s flag carrier, Air Astana, has celebrated the 24th anniversary of its inaugural commercial flight. Since its founding, the airline has grown to become one of the largest carriers in Central Asia and the Caucasus.

Founded in 2001 as a joint venture between the Government of Kazakhstan and BAE Systems, Air Astana has expanded rapidly. Today, the airline operates a fleet of approximately 63 aircraft, serving a broad network of domestic routes within Kazakhstan as well as destinations across Europe and Asia.
