IATA Celebrates Its 81st Anniversary: History and Future Together
The International Air Transport Association (IATA) is celebrating its 81st anniversary. Reflecting on the mission set forth by its founders 81 years ago, IATA stated, “Our goal was to provide safe, regular, and economical transportation to the people of the world. Today, flights are safer than ever, and more people benefit from them. The aviation industry connects and enriches our world.”
In celebration of the milestone, IATA expressed excitement about reviewing its history and the evolution of global air transportation.
Additionally, IATA introduced the “IATA Heritage Collection.” This collection, which includes over 130 pieces, tells the story of international civil aviation and IATA’s role in the sector. The collection features important items, ranging from early documents and photographs to memorabilia that reflect key moments in the development of the aviation industry.
Through this collection, IATA showcases how aviation has evolved from 1945 to the present. The IATA Heritage Collection is being exhibited at IATA’s Geneva office.
