Russian Conductor Dies on Pegasus Flight

Sergey Stadler, the chief conductor and artistic director of the St. Petersburg Symphony Orchestra, fell unwell on a Pegasus Airlines flight to Istanbul. The plane was forced to make an emergency landing in Bucharest. Stadler, aged 63, passed away during the flight.

According to Russian media, Stadler felt unwell on board the Pegasus flight bound for Istanbul, which led to the plane making an emergency landing in Bucharest. He passed away shortly afterward.

Stadler, 63, had previously served as the chief conductor of the Russian Symphony Orchestra, the St. Petersburg Conservatory Opera and Ballet Theater, and the Yekaterinburg Opera and Ballet Theater before becoming the chief conductor and artistic director of the St. Petersburg Symphony Orchestra.
