Iran to Reopen Its Airspace in Four Phases

Iran has announced plans to reopen its airspace in four stages. According to the country’s Civil Aviation Authority, the first phase will involve the resumption of transit flights. In the second phase, flights departing from airports in eastern Iran will be restarted.

The third phase will focus on restarting operations at Mehrabad and Imam Khomeini airports, while the final phase will involve reopening flights from airports in western Iran.

According to state television IRIB, the deputy head of the Civil Aviation Authority mentioned, “Currently, ticket sales have been suspended, and citizens are advised to follow official announcements and be cautious when purchasing tickets.” The announcement did not include a specific timeline for when airspace will be fully reopened.

IRIB’s report further noted that flight operations at airports across the country will be gradually restarted based on the technical and operational readiness of both military and civilian authorities.
