Small Plane Makes Emergency Landing on Roadway in the United States

In the U.S. state of Georgia, a single-engine Hawker Beechcraft BE-36 aircraft made an emergency landing on a roadway after experiencing engine problems, colliding with several vehicles in the process. Multiple people sustained minor injuries.

The Federal Aviation Administration said the aircraft encountered engine RPM issues during a short flight north of Atlanta. The plane had departed from Gainesville and was en route to an airport in Canton when it lost power.

The National Transportation Safety Board stated that the pilot realized the aircraft would not be able to return to the airport and initiated a forced landing on the roadway, during which the plane struck vehicles. Police confirmed that two people, including one driver, were taken to hospital with minor injuries.
