Air Astana Appoints New CFO

Air Astana announced that Gonçalo Pires will assume the position of Chief Financial Officer (CFO) on March 1, 2026. Current CFO İbrahim Canlıel is set to be appointed as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) on April 1, 2026, with an appropriate handover process planned in the interim.

Pires, who has served as CFO at TAP Air Portugal since 2021, managed the airline’s restructuring process and implemented various digitalization projects. With nearly twenty years of experience in the finance sector, Pires has previously held several senior positions, including in investment banking.
