Shenyang Aircraft Corporation has released footage of the maiden flights of two new J-35 stealth fighter jets painted in green primer. The aircraft, seen freshly rolled out of the factory, indicate that the program is one step closer to serial production.
Developed with fifth-generation capabilities in mind, the J-35 is expected to significantly enhance China’s low-observable fighter aircraft capacity. The newly released images show that the platform has reached a notable level of maturity in both design and production processes.
Experts assess this progress in the J-35 program as a direct challenge to the United States’ F-35 program.
