โ Indiaโs largest airline, IndiGo, has ceremonially taken delivery of the first of its 40 ordered Airbus A321XLR aircraft. The airline plans to add a total of nine A321XLRs to its fleet throughout 2026.

โ These next-generation long-range narrow-body aircraft will initially be deployed on Athens services departing from Delhi and Mumbai. With this move, the airline aims to launch its second destination in Europe.

โ As IndiGoโs wet-lease agreement with Turkish Airlines for Boeing 777 aircraft is set to end in March, A321XLR aircraft are planned to be introduced on Istanbul routes as well. The airline currently operates daily flights to Istanbul from both Delhi and Mumbai.

โ The Airbus A321XLR stands out with a range of up to approximately 8,700 kilometers. By utilizing this aircraft type, IndiGo aims to open new routes to Central and Eastern Europe and further expand its international network.
