Airbus has signed a new agreement with China-based leasing giant China Aircraft Leasing Group (CALC) for an order of 30 A320neo aircraft. With this fifth order placed by the Hong Kong–based company, CALC’s total number of aircraft orders from Airbus has risen to 282, of which 203 belong to the A320neo family.
CALC officials stated that the decision was driven by strong demand from airlines worldwide, while Airbus emphasized that the A320neo is a preferred model in the market thanks to its reduced fuel consumption and CO₂ emissions, as well as its spacious cabin.
To date, Airbus has received more than 19,000 orders globally for the A320 family. This latest agreement with CALC further strengthens the European manufacturer’s leadership in the narrow-body aircraft market.
