Airbus Secures Major Order from China’s Spring Airlines at Year-End

European aircraft manufacturer Airbus drew attention toward the end of the year with a significant order from the Chinese market. One of China’s leading low-cost carriers, Spring Airlines, announced its intention to purchase 30 aircraft from the Airbus A320neo family.

According to disclosures made to the stock exchange, the total value of the order could reach several billion US dollars. This move by Spring Airlines aims to expand its fleet to meet growing demand on domestic and regional international routes.

Deliveries of the new aircraft are planned to take place between 2028 and 2032, in phased batches. The contract still requires approval from the relevant Chinese authorities to be finalized. For Airbus, this order is seen as an important development that helps maintain its strong position in the Chinese market. In this context, the strategic role of the A320 final assembly line located in Tianjin also stands out.

With the new A320neo order, Spring Airlines is expected to increase operational efficiency and further reduce costs thanks to the aircraft’s fuel-saving advantages. Meanwhile, it is noted that large-scale new aircraft orders from China for US-based Boeing have remained limited for quite some time.
