Entry Checks for Singapore to Be Moved to Pre-Departure Stage

Singapore is introducing a new measure covering airlines following an increase in the number of passengers denied entry to the country.

As of January 2026, selected airlines will begin conducting additional checks before departure for passengers traveling to Singapore. In the first phase, Turkish Airlines, along with Singapore Airlines, Scoot, Emirates, and AirAsia, will be included in the program.

Under the new regulation, passengers’ documents and entry requirements for Singapore will be reviewed more thoroughly by airlines prior to the flight. The aim is to prevent passengers who will not be permitted entry from traveling at an earlier stage.

The application will cover flights arriving at Singapore Changi Airport. From March 2026, more airlines are expected to be added to the system.

According to data shared by authorities, approximately 41,800 passengers have recently been denied entry to Singapore.
