
Germany’s flag carrier Lufthansa has officially ended its A340-600 operations in the Asia-Pacific region. The Airbus A340-642, registered D-AIHX, operated its final flight to Hong Kong, bidding farewell to the city with a wing wave salute.
The airline announced that it has decided to end operations of the A340-600 on the Shanghai–Hong Kong–Frankfurt route. With this decision, Lufthansa has officially closed the chapter of A340-600 flights in the Asia-Pacific, marking the end of more than a decade of service on this route.
