Visa-Free Entry for Turkish Citizens Suspended in Montenegro

Montenegro, which had allowed Turkish tourists to travel visa-free for up to 90 days, is reportedly moving to temporarily suspend the arrangement.

Montenegrin Prime Minister Milojko Spajić announced on social media platform X that a decision will soon be made to temporarily lift visa-free travel for Turkish citizens. Spajić emphasized the importance of maintaining strong economic ties and bilateral cooperation, adding that intensive talks with Turkey will take place in the near future. He noted that both countries aim to find the most suitable solution in line with their mutual interests.

The move comes amid recent tensions between some Turkish nationals and local residents, which have reportedly caused public unease and influenced the decision-making process.
