Riyadh Air Operates Its First Commercial Flight ✈️

Saudi Arabia’s new airline, Riyadh Air, has successfully completed its first-ever commercial flight.

On October 26, flight #RX401 operated from Riyadh to London using a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner registered as HZ-RXX. Interestingly, the aircraft was not from Riyadh Air’s own fleet but leased from Oman Air.

This inaugural service is part of the airline’s extensive operational readiness and service procedure testing program. Following the London route, Riyadh Air also plans to launch flights to Dubai. The airline is expected to announce its 2025 winter and 2026 summer season routes in the coming weeks.

Riyadh Air views this milestone as a key step toward its goal of connecting Riyadh to over 100 international destinations by 2030.

According to information obtained by HavaSosyalMedya, if aircraft deliveries to Riyadh Air proceed as scheduled, the airline is expected to begin flights to Istanbul next year—making it one of the first short-haul international routes to be launched.
