Explosion at Refinery Near Los Angeles Airport

A major explosion occurred at the El Segundo oil refinery in Los Angeles. The blast was visible from many parts of the city.

The explosion took place near Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). The sound was heard in several surrounding neighborhoods, and numerous fire crews were dispatched to the scene. So far, no injuries have been reported.

Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass announced that there have been no operational disruptions at Los Angeles Airport and that additional safety measures have been implemented for passengers.

An investigation is underway into the cause of the fire at the Chevron refinery.
