Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen Closes Summer Season with Record-Breaking Achievements

Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen (ISG) International Airport has wrapped up the summer season with a proud record of achievements.

In August, the airport achieved a historic milestone, recording its best-ever monthly performance. ISG welcomed a total of 4,699,318 passengers, including 2,114,900 on domestic flights and 2,584,418 on international flights.

Another success was registered on the European stage. According to the Airports Council International (ACI) Europe’s August 2025 Traffic Report, Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen achieved a 21.5% year-on-year increase, making it the fastest-growing airport in the “Major Airports” category (airports with more than 40 million passengers) in August 2025.

Continuing its rapid growth momentum, ISG became the airport with the largest passenger increase in Europe over the first eight months of 2025, showing a 13.3% rise compared to the same period last year.

With its strong performance among European airports, ISG reached a total of 31.2 million passengers between January and August 2025, ranking 9th in Europe for passenger traffic.

Today, ISG connects 149 destinations in 53 countries, including 39 domestic and 110 international routes. As one of Istanbul’s and Turkey’s largest “entry” and “transfer” hubs, the airport continues to provide millions of passengers with enhanced comfort and convenience in their travel experience.
