Sky High Aircraft Makes Emergency Nose Gear Landing

A Sky High Embraer E190AR (registration HI1074) made an emergency landing on its nose at Las Américas International Airport (AILA) due to a technical issue with its landing gear.

After departing from Santo Domingo, the aircraft experienced a landing gear malfunction, declared a 7700 emergency code, and remained airborne for about two hours before safely landing on Runway 17. With the nose gear failing to deploy, the aircraft touched down on its nose.

There were seven people on board during the technical flight, and no injuries were reported. Thanks to the pilots’ maneuvers, the aircraft was brought to a controlled stop.

It was noted that the flight was a technical operation and not part of the airline’s regular scheduled services.
