U.S. Air Force Releases Intercept Images of Russian Aircraft Near Alaska

The North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) has published photos showing Russian Tu-95 bombers accompanied by Su-35 fighter jets entering the Alaska Air Defense Identification Zone (ADIZ).
According to NORAD’s statement, U.S. Air Force F-16 fighter jets were scrambled to intercept the approaching aircraft. The operation was also supported by an E-3 Sentry early warning aircraft and four KC-135 refueling aircraft.
The U.S. side noted that, as in similar airspace encounters, visual records of the interception were shared with the public.
