Martin Gauss Appointed as Gulf Air’s New CEO

Manama, September 17, 2025 – Bahrain’s flag carrier Gulf Air has announced that Martin Gauss will assume the role of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) effective November 4, 2025.

With over 30 years of experience in the aviation industry, Gauss has held senior leadership roles at various European airlines, progressing from a career as a pilot to top management. Since 2011, he has served as CEO of Latvia-based airBaltic, where he modernized the fleet, led strategic transformation programs, and achieved significant milestones in sustainable growth.

Gulf Air Chairman Khalid Taqi stated that Martin Gauss’s “track record in international aviation management, his leadership in transformation processes, and his expertise in fleet modernization” align closely with Gulf Air’s future objectives.

With the appointment of the new CEO, Gulf Air aims to enhance operational efficiency, strengthen customer experience, and boost its global competitiveness. The airline also plans to advance its sustainability and network expansion strategies under Gauss’s leadership in the coming period.

In a statement shared on social media, Martin Gauss highlighted Gulf Air’s 75-year legacy and said he was “honored to unite employees, customers, and partners around a shared vision of success.”
