Borg El Arab International Airport Renamed as Alexandria International Airport 🇪🇬🛫

👉 The Egyptian Civil Aviation Authority has announced that the name of Borg El Arab International Airport has been officially changed to Alexandria International Airport. Along with the new name, the airport’s ICAO code will also be updated.

👉 The airport, whose current ICAO code is HEBA, will start using the code HEAX as of September 4, 2025. Its IATA code will also change from HBE to ALY.

👉 Officials stated that this change aims to increase the international recognition of the city of Alexandria and strengthen the airport’s regional identity. Turkish Airlines and Pegasus also operate regular flights to the airport.
