IndiGo to Lease Two More Wide-Body Aircraft for Long-Haul Expansion

IndiGo has announced that it will lease two additional Boeing 787-9 wide-body aircraft from Norwegian carrier Norse Atlantic Airways as part of its strategy to expand its long-haul international network.
Under the new agreement, IndiGo will acquire the two Boeing 787-9 aircraft through a damp lease arrangement, which includes the aircraft and cockpit crew. The airline had previously leased four Boeing 787-9s from Norse Atlantic in the same manner, with the first already operating on the Delhi–Bangkok route. The remaining three are expected to join the fleet in the second half of 2025.
The fifth and sixth aircraft from this new lease deal are expected to enter service in early 2026 and will be deployed on long-haul routes originating from India.
