Emirates Enhances In-Flight Medical Support with Parsys Telemedicine
Emirates has partnered with Parsys Telemedicine to provide high-quality and real-time medical assistance during flights. The airline has invested over $2.4 million in a new telemedicine kit, which will be installed on 300 aircraft over the next few years.

The Parsys system includes high-resolution video consultation, remote passenger assessment, secure data transmission, and a 12-lead EKG, allowing highly trained cabin crew to manage medical emergencies effectively. Data collected from pulse oximeters, thermometers, blood pressure monitors, glucose meters, and EKG devices is automatically transmitted to Emirates’ 24/7 Ground Medical Support Team in Dubai.
First Real-Life Success of the System
Recently, on a Lyon, France flight, an elderly passenger suffered a severe drop in oxygen levels. Using the Parsys system, Emirates’ cabin crew shared real-time vitals with ground medical experts, ensuring immediate intervention and passenger safety.
Medical Training for Emirates Cabin Crew
Emirates prioritizes medical training for its crew. New recruits undergo an eight-week intensive program, including CPR, AED usage, emergency childbirth assistance, infection control, and trauma care. Annual refresher courses ensure that all crew members remain fully prepared to handle medical emergencies.

Psychological training is also included, teaching crew members how to calm passengers, communicate difficult news, and offer emotional support. Additionally, Emirates provides mental health resources for its employees after critical incidents.
