EasyJet to Cut 3,500 Flights from Winter Schedule

British low-cost carrier easyJet plans to cut approximately 3,500 flights from its 2026–2027 winter schedule due to rising jet fuel costs.

The airline will remove an additional 600,000 to 700,000 seats from its schedule, following an initial reduction of around 700,000 seats announced during the summer. This will bring the total capacity reduction for the October 2026–March 2027 period to approximately 1.3–1.4 million seats, representing around 3% of easyJet’s winter capacity of approximately 50 million seats.

easyJet CEO Kenton Jarvis stated that jet fuel prices had nearly doubled following the conflict in Iran, prompting the airline to reduce capacity, particularly during the winter months when demand is typically lower.

The airline has not yet released a comprehensive list of the routes and dates affected by the planned flight reductions.
