ACI World Director General Justin Erbacci spoke exclusively to AirwayBuzz, sharing his views on Istanbul Airport’s operational efficiency and passenger experience.

Erbacci said Istanbul Airport stands out for its ability to efficiently manage both aircraft and passenger traffic while maintaining high standards of passenger experience. He noted that operational excellence and passenger experience are successfully delivered together at the airport.

Highlighting Istanbul Airport’s position as Europe’s busiest airport, Erbacci said Turkish Airlines’ extensive network and Istanbul’s strategic location between Europe and Asia have played an important role in the airport’s growth.

Describing Istanbul as a critical hub connecting different regions of the world, Erbacci said he expects Istanbul Airport to further increase its global importance in the coming years, with passenger traffic continuing to grow.

Erbacci also shared his personal experience at Istanbul Airport, noting that he was particularly pleased with the efficiency and comfort of the transfer process. He said facilities such as the Turkish Airlines Lounge, İGA Lounge and YOTEL provide passengers with added comfort during long connection times, while the terminal’s lively atmosphere also contributes positively to the overall passenger experience.
