Airbus to Install A220 Full-Flight Simulator in Singapore

Airbus Asia Training Centre will install an Airbus A220 full-flight simulator at its Singapore facility to meet growing training demand across the Asia-Pacific region. Scheduled to become operational in the fourth quarter of 2027, the simulator will be used for A220 pilot type-rating and recurrent training.

The training centre, a joint venture between Airbus and Singapore Airlines, will operate the simulator in partnership with Flight Training Alliance. Flight Training Alliance, a joint venture between CAE and Lufthansa Aviation Training, will deploy the simulator, while Airbus Asia Training Centre will manage its operations and training delivery. The announcement was made during the Asia Pacific Aviation Training Summit 2026 in Bangkok.

According to Airbus, 532 A220s had been delivered to more than 25 operators worldwide by the end of July 2026, while total orders had exceeded 1,100 aircraft. Located at Seletar Aerospace Park, Airbus Asia Training Centre has the capacity to train up to 10,000 trainees annually and currently houses full-flight simulators for the A320, A330, A350, A380 and ATR 72-600.
