90 Soldiers Killed in Colombia C-130 Crash

A C-130H Hercules military transport aircraft belonging to the Colombian Air Force crashed during takeoff near the town of Puerto Leguízamo in the Putumayo region, close to the Peruvian border.
According to initial statements, more than 110 military personnel were on board. Authorities reported that 90 people were killed in the crash, while 20 were rescued.
The aircraft, registered FAC-10016, went down shortly after departure for reasons that have not yet been determined. The crash reportedly occurred approximately three kilometers from a populated area.
Colombia’s Defense Minister, Pedro Sanchez, stated that numerous search and rescue and civil defense teams were dispatched to the region following the incident. An investigation has been launched to determine the exact cause of the crash and to clarify details regarding the casualties.
