Frontier Airlines has filed a lawsuit against American Airlines over a ground collision that occurred on March 7, 2024, at Miami International Airport. According to the claim, an American Airlines aircraft struck the vertical stabilizer of a parked Frontier Airbus A321neo during a pushback maneuver. As a result of the incident, the Frontier aircraft was reportedly out of service for about six months.
In the lawsuit, Frontier is seeking more than $100,000 in compensation, including repair costs and loss of revenue due to the aircraft being grounded. American Airlines has acknowledged the contact but denies responsibility. The case is being heard in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida.
